Falling

Blend and fade
her wings painted
with water
the sort of white
liable to get lost
to the rain

My umbrella hand
is hers alone
an angel
slowly turning grey
each streak an affront
to my effort

She shrugs it off
smiles
a wistful sort
anointing my lips
now blue
with what warmth remains
